Our mission is to provide geomagnetic field data supplied from a worldwide network of magnetic observatories, and the geomagnetic indices (AE index, ASY/SYM index, and Dst index) derived in this data center to researchers specializing mostly in solar terrestrial physics, and geomagnetism, the graduate students majoring in these academic disciplines, and citizens having an interest in those research fields. We aim to promote research and education in the fields of solar terrestrial physics and geomagnetism by facilitating the global exchange of the geomagnetic field data including the geomagnetic indices. As a data center operated by a university institution, we also strive to advance inter-university activities on data management, and on-campus collaboration with other institutions engaging in data repositories.
